DC Cherry Blossoms

April 11th, 2005

cherry blossums in DCGreat weekend in DC 8th-10th. Cherry trees were in full bloom as you can see from the photo. We went to a Duran Duran concert at George Mason U. with my mate Jim from Michigan. It was the royal treatment all the way… pre-party, limo-shuttle service to the show, lights went down 5 seconds after we got to our seats and the original Duran line up totally rocked out. Then back to DC for the post party. Reminded Nicki and me of the good ol’ days in Muenchen. Saturday we did a tour of the Mall with the usual monuments and memorials. We did lunch near Dupont Circle and then Saturday night we went out for dinner and drinks in Adams Morgan. Started out with Thai food and cocktails, then went on to Jim’s local hang out. Then Sunday we did brunch and went to IKEA on the way back to Raleigh. IKEA rules. Got all kinds of cool shit for the flat. And that was our fab trip to DC. More pics to follow—

Another Birthday…. Ouch!

March 9th, 2005

Another year goes by and it’s getting harder and harder to get excited about my birthday. No big plans this year. Seems like I have fewer and fewer relatives who remember or who are even still alive to remember. At least I still have my health… cough cough. Naw, it’s all good. Nicki got me a facial treatment at a spa… which is cool. Don’t want to start falling apart before my time. Best gift was from my dad which was looney tunes pez dispensers with money stashed in them. Made me feel like a kid again for about 5 seconds… but you know what? I’ll take it.

WTF?!

Escape To LA Part Deux

February 7th, 2005

Yes, we went again from 02/03/2005 - 02/07/2005. Stayed with Scott again. It was as brilliant as we remembered. Arrived thursday morning and went for a walk up Crescent Hts. towards Sunset Blvd… taking detours down 3rd St., Melrose, Beverly and Sunset. Awesome weather and food all day. Amazing Sushi the first evening in studio city, beach and french food on friday topped off with Buddha’s gig at Loffler’s in Anaheim. Wild stuff. Cool show too. Buddha was surprised to see me and we had a good ol’ laugh. Saturday helped Scott get ready for his parties on Sunday. Did Korean BBQ for dinner in Korea town which was awesome. Then Sunday watched the Illinois B-Ball in the morning and then the superbowl in the afternoon. Great guests including uncle Johnnie again who really seemed to enjoy himself. Then we just passed out in front of the tv from too much food and drink. We left pretty early monday morning but it was worth every second. Can’t wait to go again.
